Subject: Top Artists Fly To Beijing For TV Series "Great Shanghai"

Shortly after spring festival, Paul Chun, Deric Wan, Vivian Chan and a group of Hong Kong artists flew to Beijing to announce the release of the TV series "Great Shanghai", which will be broadcasting at 6:00pm during prime time.

"Great Shanghai", unlike the 20's and 30's TV series, "Shanghai Beach", is a story about the battles between the businesses in Shanghai from 1996 to 2003. A number of well known artists from Hong Kong and Taiwan, who perform as Hong Kong and Taiwanese business people in "Great Shanghai", were present. In real life, these main artists have started several years of businesses of their own in the mainland.

Paul Chun's former roles, in several Hong Kong TV series such as "At the Threshold of an Era" and "Secret of the Heart", have been centered around large family businesses. When asked that he should be familar with his "boss"'s role this time, Paul Chun modestly replied that in "Great Shanghai" he plays the role of a Taiwanese businessman, which is somewhat different than a Hong Kong businessman. So in order to satisfy the Taiwanese viewer, he must do his homework. "Great Shanghai" is Paul Chun's first series in the mainland. Being a Hong Kong actor, he says with pity, that people thought that his origin was from Hong Kong, so no one asked him to perform in any mainland series. But in fact, having been born in Beijing, his Mandarin is not bad. Hopefully everyone can hear him speak the Beijing language in "Great Shanghai".

Even though Paul Chun has always been in acting, he has ten years of business in the mainland. He has his own views on Shanghai's investment market. Paul Chun believes that in the last couple of years, Shanghai has become Asia's financial center. Shanghai's business atmosphere, compared to Hong Kong, is even more suitable to engage in. Filming the business battles in Shanghai, is no different than that in Hong Kong. When asked how is his business, Paul Chun gracefully replied, his business experience in the mainland will add to his role in the series and for himself, it is a bit of an extra reward.

Similar to Paul Chun, Deric Wan, who plays the role of a businessman in the series, also has business of his own. But Deric Wan says that he has not learned enough and that this series has made him understand many business secrets. Deric Wan says, "In the series, I play the role of a Singapore businessman who is cruel, merciless and extremely skilled in business, but stubborn in relationships. In the past, I was person who knew nothing about business. The scripts would seem too professional for me and the series intense level would allow me to think that they were exaggerated. Later I consulted some friends who were in business. They were startled and informed me the market's many secrets has become part of the story scripts. From then on I understood what business was like in reality."
