Four years ago, all for the "love of beauty", Deric Wan, who was unfamiliar with business, invested several thousands of dollars with a friend and opened a hair salon in Taiwan called "Ten Miles of Ocean". Recently he has opened another hair salon in Shanghai. He hopes to use his own well known name to enter the inland market. He believes that one day, he will have a hair salon located in several inland cities.
Deric Wan feels that he is fortunate to know friends who are business knowledgeable, leaving him with no pressure. He doesn't have to worry about any of the store's big and small problems. All he is responsible for is his own specialty which is public relations, packaging and publicizing.
He says, "I've always paid attention to my hair styling, that is why I love to visit the hair salon. I understand a customer's feeling. The feeling of being a celebrity and not wanting to be seen having a hair cut in public. That is why the hair salon has several individual VIP rooms with internet computers stations for customers to pass the time."
Apart from packaging, Deric has setup a program for VIP members to have special towels, cups and dishes, all with the customers' names engraved on them. They will not have to share with other customers, giving them a first class feeling. Many customers support this idea.
Even though he has some achievement with business, Deric has never thought of giving up acting. Acting is his greatest interest.
